Peg Dimarco: Im using woodprix instructions to make it and I do it already :)
ada 1700: What a great idea! can i just say why i think it might not have worked? ignore this if you already tried it, but id love to see this fully working (if you still have it) I think the problems in the length of the hand hold to rooster it, as you pull back the energy is not being displaced evenly .i think it would have the tendancy to tip forward and up as pulled back,.im guessing it wasnt smooth under load? and sticking?... my thoughts were ... a smaller, flatter roostering device that would displace the energy evenly backwards..(although it might make it harder to rooster as you dont have much height leverage) a bit like whats on a pump action shotgun, but made of metal? maybe slightly chunkier? just my thoughts, im no expert
Macho Vato: lol he sounds really disappointed and is now going through the motions
Johnny Tripp: great concept you have here. sorry to see that your pump didnt work out. you could try to laminate a brass tube over the bolts running through your grove to shim out some of the free play there. you may even have to add multiple layers as the brass tubing I have seen is quite thin and fits one inside the other quite nicely to create a bearing/bushing effect that would eliminate a lot of drag in the rail. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and hope you keep up with the home crafting projects. Good journeys, JT
Wolf: What thickness of aluminium do you use? 3-4mm?
Jason Sadek: great videos, would you be interested in making a working bolt action gun or is that to complex?
Sudheesh: Looks awesome. To bad I don't have the materials to make it.
