TracFone LG840G 'Dumb' Phone

What do you think about this video?

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: +QbidMusicandMore mine is still going strong my wife is still using it. It gets as a stronger signal then the LG does.

Al Phelps: Tracfone is now selling a re-conditioned one for $10 plus shipping.

James Wilson: I Truly Enjoy My LG840g and Mine Came With TRIPPLE MINUTES Deal When I Bought Mine. I Started Out Getting Those $*20.00 Minutes Cards, But After Playing Round With Them After Get My LG840g TracFone, I Just Start Getting The YEAR CARD and Have Minutes On Hand NO Matter What and NEVER WORRY About Running Out Time, No Matter Where I am. IT'S A GREAT PHONE and Get You One and Truly Get A YEALY MINUTE CARD and ENJOY YOURSELF...!

KiddCoppin: It's a smartphone...

niraha: Can you have KIK, Lumosity, or Instagram on this?

Paula France: $ 20 for 180 minutes does not sound like a good value. I am currently purchasing 1000 minutes for 25.00 from Net10. I have thought about purchasing this phone, but 180 minutes for 20 bux does not sound good to me.

Ben Kent: This phone is garbage. I have been regretting it ever since I bought it. Browser sucks. No qwerty keyboard when you want it (browser has you input text with a standard like phone keypad, WTF?) Trash. Trash. Trash. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Macedonia Choirs: I love mind, Best TracFone I ever used. I just hate I cracked the Mother board when I dropped it in the toilet.

Jimmy Sovocool: thanks for the review! I was wondering how do you download movies, apps, music, etc.? and is it free? one more thing, is the email free (and do you have to be connected to wifi for it to work) or does it use airtime minutes? thanks!

Algees215: So when your on the internet it uses up your minutes?

QbidMusicandMore: That Motorolla was my first cell phone. The calls were incredibly clear on it for a cheap phone. Unfortunately one day it just quit working.

eric pilcher: I have this phone & it's so so at best i can't access web worth a crap phone reception is ok no apps i like the no contract part & phone is priced cheap .

alison harvey: one of my pictures i have taken with this phone has suddenly shown up on my screen .. not like a wallpaper but like a little stamp in the bottom right corner .. i have deleted the pic from my phone and now it is still like a little stamp sitting there and has a camera with " no image " written in it ... i have no idea how it got there or how to remove it ... any ideas ? tia

FuzzyElf: It's a QWERTY keyboard, named after that row of letters. It's not really quirky at all.

Gerardo Flores: does it let you watch youtude video becase i have one just like it and it says network unable even if my wifi is working fine

Rotsen Puriran: Hey, how did you activated your sim card?

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I do have opera on it but kind of like the default browser better even though it is hard to type in web addys.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Nothing wrong with that. That is exactly what I use mine for also. I am quite familiar with the rotary phones and busy signals. When answering machines came out I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread LOL.

tornmask: this is a darn great no nonsense touch screen cell phone. thank you so much for this presentation, cheers!

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Very nice. I am going to have to look it up. It sounds like exactly what I am looking for when I upgrade.

909chuck: Some of the 840s have "dots" and one of the other reviews said they DO adjust screen brightness. If yours doesn't and it's not dirty or covered by a cover, maybe yours doesn't have the feature. Try it in semi-dark, with a small flashlight and see if it changes brightness. Good luck, it's a good fone!

stalkingalizee: Virgin Mobile has $35 pre-paid plans with Android 4.1.3 phones starting at $120. My mom has one as her first smartphone and she loves it. If you don't have access to Google Play, you are missing out on all the great free apps out there that make it so cool to own a phone.

izzy simpson: I own this phone and it sucks

CuppyCAKEman: No refurbished is not a heck of a deal, but it is an ok deal. Refurbished phones are very easy to break thats why the are so cheap (since the phone has been broke already) so I would not really get a refurbished phone myself but if you take good care of it, it should be okay ( and im not a compete tech expert but i know some). But good video anyway.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I guess I didn't think about it that way. I just figured some one bought the phone and didn't like it so they returned it.

Abigail Faith: I purchased this cell phone for $39.99 on the tracfone website with free shipping. Great deal. :)

KatiuskaWook: Can I use whatsApp? :)

todayitsyou: Nice and appropriate title for your video, as it certainly isn't a true "Smart Phone" but fools a lot of people into thinking it is because of it's touchpad, which isn't always that sensitive. I have a number of Smarter cellphones that have better/more sensitive touchpads.

Fewerbog Ledend: Is it worth buying right now for Texting ,games, and social things such as facebook?

Mulder25j: Fuzzy, After I installed the memory card I was unable to text/email images. In order to send images I have to move them to 'Phone Memory', then text/email them. Could I have change the setting when I installed the memory card? Thanks

Barack Clinton: I never found out what they were but covered them with black tape. Had no effect on the phone.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: It is fairly quick. I have never timed it but I only charge it every 3 days or so and I believe it takes about 1 hour to charge.

rumpmuffins: i would also suggest getting opera mini on the 840g because it offers the QWERTY keyboard for easier typing

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: As for iheart radio I am not sure. I have not tried any radio apps on it. If you do please let me know I would love to try it myself. And yes if you lose WIFI it will try to switch to 3g but a warning screen will come up asking you if you want to continue on 3g so it wont waste your minutes.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: The program i used was called Pazera free file converter. As for websites it will work with ones that support mobile phones which most of the major ones do.

Jayar Flores: i have one! a a basic emegeny phone.

crankypreezer: I bought my refurbished phone for $5 plus shipping.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I think texting is great with it. Games are limited because it is java based and not android. There are a lot of games out there for it but I have only tried a few. As for Facebook I found it kind of hard to navigate but that could be because at home I use a 32" monitor and find the small screen kind of frustrating. On the other hand you may like it. It is just my opinion.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I could not agree more. trying to view pictures or anything is almost impossible. I would much rather have a Android.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: That is a good question. I have never tried it. If you get it working please let me know I would like to try it.

Catzilla: They're on the Tracfone website. I got the ZTE Valet. It's a 1 Ghz phone, running Android Jellybean (4.1). The phones are still pay-as-you-go and when you add minutes you now get the same number of data megs. What I really like about it is that Tracfone has done a great job of staying out of the way of the phone's operating system and just handling the billing. (You find out your balance by downloading the Tracfone app from the Google Play store).

TheUnknownHarbingers: i call it a not so smart phone

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Thank you very much :-)

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I have tried it and just couldn't get a grip on it. Maybe I just got too use to the stock browser that it came with. I will have to play with it some more.

meili bucior: This is not a dumb phone

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Thank you for all the info. I will check into them other carriers. It would seem there are a lot more option for no contract phones now then there was a few years ago when I got my last one.

starclaws: can it run skype?

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I know it is a feature phone. Thank you for the correction.

FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: That is a good question but I have no idea what they are for or if they do anything.

llascar81: I used handbrake to get my DVD movies into my computer and it allows you to convert them to other formats and specify what size a file you want. If that doesn't work for you in regards to file type, I use format factory to do any kind of file conversion! Just thought I'd share!
