FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I have looked very closely at mine with a strong light and magnifier and can not see any small holes so I imagine mine did not come with that option.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Yes it does run opera mini I use it on mine.
909chuck: Some of the 840s have "dots" and one of the other reviews said they DO adjust screen brightness. If yours doesn't and it's not dirty or covered by a cover, maybe yours doesn't have the feature. Try it in semi-dark, with a small flashlight and see if it changes brightness. Good luck, it's a good fone!
909chuck: One of the other reviews said, among the JAVA APPS, you can upload Opera mini.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I think you will really like it. I would be lost without mine.
Sha'londa Owens: cool I getting a lg 840g
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: That is a amazing deal. I know when the phone comes new it has a few minutes and a couple of days to activate it but you really got a bonus with the extra minutes and days.
I think she will love the phone It really is a great phone for the price.
lupy669: My wife just got me one of these, QVC had it for $99 with 1400 min and a year of service. With their 1st time purchase bonus, it was $80 delivered. After activation, it ended up with 1470 minutes and 425 days, not sure why as I didn't use any special codes. I didn't realize it had a WIFI option, so that will save air time. I have never used QVC till now, but it came quick and activation was painless.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Yes you can make any song into a ringtone. The only thing is that the file size has to be under 300 kb or it wont see the file.
There are a lot of good ones for free on the internet or you can make up your own.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: As for iheart radio I am not sure. I have not tried any radio apps on it. If you do please let me know I would love to try it myself.
And yes if you lose WIFI it will try to switch to 3g but a warning screen will come up asking you if you want to continue on 3g so it wont waste your minutes.
nuster rab: BOUGHT A SAMSUNG TRACFONE HAVE LG840 I TRANSFERRED MY MINUTES 2000 AND THE PHONE WAS NO GOOD DIDN'T WORK TRIED TO PUT BACK MY MINUTES TO MY OLD PHONE WOULD NOT DO IT THERE LOST I DUMPED THEM FOR A GO PHONE
duhflushtech: Oh, and another question which I assume will be pretty easy to answer. Can I set any song or audio clip that I store on the phone as a custom ringtone or text message tone? My current super old tracfone won't allow me to do that; if I want a new ringtone I have to buy from tracfone's limited selection rather than create or set my own from my own library.
duhflushtech: Great review! Two quick questions: 1, can you get the iheartradio app on here? It seems like you could if you can get Opera, but maybe not since this is still technically a dumb phone. 2. If you are using wifi but lose the signal, does the phone automatically switch to 3G? If so, do you get an audible notification when that happens? I'm concerned that if I am listening to say Pandora via wifi and I lose the signal, it will switch to 3G and I'll start bleeding minutes without realizing it.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I agree. Thank you I am glad that you enjoyed it.
tornmask: this is a darn great no nonsense touch screen cell phone. thank you so much for this presentation, cheers!
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I used .3pg. It is not as good of quality as .avi but the file will be about 1/4 the size of a .avi of the same movie.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: It is fairly quick. I have never timed it but I only charge it every 3 days or so and I believe it takes about 1 hour to charge.
rex366: thanks for the info, to what kind of file you convert the movies to be able to see them on the lg 840g
lincoln7echo: How's the battery charge?
Christopher711: I was getting my service cut with the phone company. Love Tracfone.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I think texting is great with it. Games are limited because it is java based and not android. There are a lot of games out there for it but I have only tried a few. As for Facebook I found it kind of hard to navigate but that could be because at home I use a 32" monitor and find the small screen kind of frustrating. On the other hand you may like it. It is just my opinion.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I had a similar problem with a different service provider. I have been with TracFone for about 3 years now and just love it.
You cant go wrong with the LG phones are really a good deal for the money.
Mason Johnson: Is it worth buying right now for Texting ,games, and social things such as facebook?
Christopher711: My first cell was a blue tracfone nokia 1100 with the flash light at the top. The phone company used to require a deposit and I was constantly getting my service cut because I would fall behind on the bill. So I jumped at the chance to get tracfone. Nice video. I am definitely going to get the LG
megaohmz: Tracfone customer service s in India for God's sake. All of our jobs are being taken overseas and I am extremely pissed off by this. Tracfone company owners can really go freak themselves! God damned mother freakers!
Abigail Faith: This phone seems nicer than my mom's Samsung Admire -- which is a pretty bad phone. The internet is super slow and has a very limited memory. This is half the price and can do what the Admire does and more. :)
Abigail Faith: I purchased this cell phone for $39.99 on the tracfone website with free shipping. Great deal. :)
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: There are a lot of java apps that you can access right from the phone through TracFone website. If you do a Google search for LG840G apps you will find a lot of good apps for it.
Jeffrey Taylor: I HAVE THOSE TWO!!
KatiuskaWook: Can I use whatsApp? :)
2000puffdad: my aunt bought mines for about $85
Barack Clinton: I never found out what they were but covered them with black tape. Had no effect on the phone.
Stupid Epic Video!: Lucky, I have an 800G
llascar81: I used handbrake to get my DVD movies into my computer and it allows you to convert them to other formats and specify what size a file you want. If that doesn't work for you in regards to file type, I use format factory to do any kind of file conversion! Just thought I'd share!
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I guess I didn't think about it that way. I just figured some one bought the phone and didn't like it so they returned it.
CuppyCAKEman: No refurbished is not a heck of a deal, but it is an ok deal. Refurbished phones are very easy to break thats why the are so cheap (since the phone has been broke already) so I would not really get a refurbished phone myself but if you take good care of it, it should be okay ( and im not a compete tech expert but i know some). But good video anyway.
crankypreezer: From the Tracfone website.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: That is a good question but I have no idea what they are for or if they do anything.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: That is a good question. I have never tried it. If you get it working please let me know I would like to try it.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Where did you get it so cheap?, That is a heck of a deal!!
Barack Clinton: I have one of these and a case. Do you know what the two small dots behind the faceplate to the right of the speaker slot are? Shine a strong light on the faceplate there and you'll see them. Are they light sensors? I've blocked them and shined light on them without affecting the screen image so I doubt it.
starhezthet: can it run skype?
crankypreezer: I bought my refurbished phone for $5 plus shipping.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Thank you very much.
In my opinion the touch screen is a little too sensitive. It is very easy to control but my big fingers tend to hit things I don't want to some times by accident.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: I am not sure why it would do that. I still have the stock memory card in mine that it came with. If you find a solution please let me know as I plan to upgrade my memory card also.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: Nothing wrong with that. That is exactly what I use mine for also.
I am quite familiar with the rotary phones and busy signals. When answering machines came out I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread LOL.
FUzzyBUnnyBOoties: The program i used was called Pazera free file converter. As for websites it will work with ones that support mobile phones which most of the major ones do.
kingjohn2011: Great review! I am also going to get this phone for Christmas, and I have the LG800. I'm am just wondering if you have to apply external pressure when touching the screen. Please reply.
After I installed the memory card I was unable to text/email images. In order to send images I have to move them to 'Phone Memory', then text/email them.
Could I have change the setting when I installed the memory card?
Tasha Bird: how and what did you use to put movies on this phone and also can you go any web site you want on the browser? thanks
