Roll Up Slim Jim Antenna For Emergency & Preparedness Communication Review

What do you think about this video?

Canadian Outdoors: how many ohm is that twin lead ?

owhatsthis4: Best info on this subject. We really need more of this knowledge. BTW, what Diamond antenna are you using?

Matt Larson: Just bought one today! Thanks! boxfotos.com KN4JZF (Tampa)

mang mang: what your type HT

rrrandommman: I just ordered my VX-DR, thank you for this review, since I won't be able to buy a SW base station for a while yet, this might be my ticket to hitting local repeaters at home, then later it can live in my bug out bag. 73

iwantosavemoney: am a newbee i take it that these channels for repeaters are public knowledge and i just have to know where to look?

akaredcrossbow: Will this work for my Baofeng BF-F8HP. All I use it for is listening to my local police and fire. My problem is I have a Nagoya NA-771 antenna and I’m still getting poor reception, or nothing at all. Thank you

John Turlington: Thank you for the Awesome review.Just ordered one for my baofeng. Godbless kj4ztv

baudellio charles: I'm so gonna freak with this including with sota and aprs once I get my license

The Foolish Mortal: What mic is that you're using?

cl m: I have a vx-8dr and Im looking for a PTT option for my chest rig etc. Does that speaker/mic have an option to plug in an earpiece? I know the radio itself does but im looking to run one from the mic to my ear. Thanks.

KG7YTS: I thought Rubber Ducks were the antenna that came with the radio and the Diamonds were hi-gains

William Burr: Good review Coach, and thank you for your service. I have a slim Jim also, but haven't tried it out yet. You've given me the itch to go out side and haul it up a tree with some bankline. I'll see if I can hit some repeaters that have been out of reach heretofore. 73's, my friend. AA8VA

Ever Dave: Do you have any luck with Simplex connections?

flgliderpilot: Slim Jim is a great dual band antenna. I wouldn't say TV twin lead is the "highest quality". It could have been made with ladder line for higher wattage. But, the antenna is good, and your demonstration is good, but you said "UM" 95 times. Might want to reel that in before the next job interview. 73!

Fantacy Land: The part of the wire that goes through the ceiling brings back old memories. I remember my Grandfather using wire like that for his TV antenna. He refused to get cable, and relied on old-fashioned outside antennas. Pretty cool set-up.

Kevin G: I had a Question on the setup for this antenna. Could I use an old aluminum tape measure and use that to support the antenna much like the folding military antennas used by the troops today, or would the measuring tape interfere with the reception?

Your Friendly Neighborhood Fireman: I'm in a hole and just barely out of rang for my radio from the main repeater I listen to and I think this should help my problem haha hopefully to I'll be getting my tech ticket

Sebastian Urtubia: Nice backpack! Maker?
Good video

Clecy Conner: Which coax cable is that?

Schools: Learn how to get phlebotomy training in California! The job pays decent money for the amount of schools needed to graduate.
