Ian Granados: Is the call quality decent? I really need to know cause im interested in buying this phone
Aaron Greenwood: Should i be worrying about the longitivity of this phone? Seen as its a clone?
12we34be: You straight killed him with that one.
Dandruff Liquid: the phone's ppi is 320! very good for the price
Dandruff Liquid: Hello, I don't think this phone works on T-Mobile, since this phone doesn't support AWS bands 1700 and 2100 (which T-Mobile uses). I was a little sad too hearing that (canada), so i'm just going with prepaid and public wifi. It's still a great phone though!
Dandruff Liquid: Finally an in depth review! Thanks a lot for this, it was very informative. It would have been even better if you could show us more of the camera (more pictures taken outside for example, low light conditions as well)! Thanks again
Mario Guerreiro: I have the same phone (Star X920 Legend) and the same problem. Can you please give me more details how you fixed the 3G problem. So far I have mine rooted, installed Superuser and Rom Manager. But what do I do with it? Tks.
Francisco Velásquez: is the battery any good on this phone?
Niuqorram: Will it work on T-Mobile in the U.S.?
SuperGustav123: how is the sound quality??
Filipino Eagle: hows the ppi?
mike crox: I got that phone in $189
KineticEgg: I bought 'HTC Handset Triple Layer Anti-Glare Matte Screen Protector' for Droid DNA / x920e from ebay. Perfect fit, but used a hole punch to expand the hole for the camera as it's not exactly in the same place on the clones.
KineticEgg: This is where I differ from what those on 'needrom.com' did.. I have not used the roms from the site. I stuck with the stock rom that's on the phone, and only rooted and installed CWM recovery. After reading all the headaches, black screen issues and bricking, I just thought it not to be worth the hassle as I couldn't see the benefit to these so called 'updates'. Also my x920 is the 'Legend X920' not a 'Star x920'/'S5 butterfly' or the HDC incarnation.
Brendan Huffman: Hmm interesting, which rom number i.e. ROM 1-6 did you use before you applied the patch? I think that may have something to do with it. I am rooted on ROM 1 still no dice. I may very well switch over to AT&T if I can't sort this out since I should have better luck with those bands.
KineticEgg: Im on 3 in the UK.. I did not do anything extra when applying the fix. I'm getting a solid 10-15mb download speed from the phone. Previously the phone was not consistent when it came to speed tests or streaming. After applying fix everything become smooth.
Brendan Huffman: I have the mauimeta program installed and whatnot, I loaded the .ini file and the new modem from the database folder but it still isn't working properly. The instructions are pretty bad since they are translated from a foreign language. Can I ask what carrier and area you are in? I'm on tmobile but I should be able to get 4g through the 1900mhz band in my area. Still no luck :( did you do anything extra to get it working? This phone would be excellent if I could just get over edge speeds
ThatBulgarian: I cant find a screen protector for this model..do you think that accessories for the droid dna will work perfectly for this?
KineticEgg: Everything I got was from 'needrom.com' and links posted within the forum comments.. I'll have a look for the exact files and tools I used to fix the 3G, as the method to do so was not exactly the same as posted on 'needrom'.
Brendan Huffman: Hey could you post a link to the page you found the instructions and files to fix the 3G? I tried the fix as prescribed on "needrom.com" but didnt have any luck. A full tutorial would be even better if you have the time but a link would also be much appreciated! Thanks
