Luke Upton: Did you have any problems with the computer? Any reprogramming needed?
Devin Thomson: How long do you think it took you?
Javi M: is the 3.4 a better engine then the 3.1 i believe they pretty much have same hp dont they
Wayne Buffin: can you tell me how to repair a oil pan gasket on my car it's leaking small drops and I want to fix this problem ....
wuzup: vacationtime....... I'm doing this same 3.4 engine swap in my 02 alero now....... please help....... 1. how did you get the two exhaust bolts out....can barely get to them and they're frozen......2. if you leave the ac compressor attached and just undo the lines, didn't you lose all the freon?.....3. if you leave the power steering pump attached and just undo the lines, don't you get air in the system which is hard to bleed out I heard
Tim the car guy: can somebody show step to step how to get the engine out. tomorrow I'm removing a engine out of a 05 impala and I've never done it before like how do I unbolt the transmission
cody N: now my question is if you can fit any of these motors into a alero? - oldsmobile intrigue 3.5 v6 -the supercharged 3800 - or a aurora v8 if you know please let me know because i want to build a actual track car out of a 2 door alero. if none of these will fit im swapping it to rwd with a wrx rear end, and either placing a 3.4 vortec turbo or a rotary (because racecar/roadkill)
Bud E: Do you know for a 02 Rendezvous, can the engine come out from the top? I read somewhere it needs to drop out from the bottom.
calcium66: I have just replaced the engine for my Alero 2002. An engine from a 2001 Impala was in stalled in the Alero. The Mechanic at first states that the PSI for the fuel pump is 38 it should be 55-58. We changed the fuel pump and fuel filter- and it gave the same reading. The car would start twice a day like 9 hr apart. If I start the car now and shut it off it will not start-will crank but wont turn over. I changed cramshaft and crankposition sensor - still the same thing. The only thing that works is disconnecting the positive charge on the battery for 30 secs with the key in the on position. I also cut the security wire (thin yellow wire} while the car was running it still will not start again after the first start. Any solution?
j loft: hey the guy with the brake light problem ,if it not the bulb mine was the turn signal switch most g m car run both the brake light and turn signals thru it, easy to tell if you have only one bulb
Ricky Temples: Most shops don't want to work on my car, especially doing my new exhaust, they all want to claim that it's $2000 to do, and they bullcrap me everytime. I just need someone in Georgia to remove both manifolds and either replace them with oem product or pacesetter headers.
3waymore: Please tell me two things. 1) how did you get the lower engine to tranny bolt out on the firewall side? 2) how did you get to the exhaust bolts. PLEASE help soon
Byron Da Shirtmaker: How much do u charge to swap out a engine?
Davie Jones: The only reason head gaskets go bad are either too much pressure in the head by over turbo charge or a blower or someone let a antifreeze leak prove fatal when they instead of replacing it with the good stuff put in good antifreeze coolant and regular tap water! Tap water has calcium and rust and all kinds of bad stuff in it and what happens is that the calcium collects around the shaft of the thermostat during the summer and when the first hit of cold weather come's around it seizes up and won't open when the engine get's hot and over pressurizes the coolant ports and it finds the weak area which is the head gasket and it blows a hole between the cylinder and the coolant ports which don't ruin the engine but makes you have a job changing the head gasket. That is if it don't crack the block! The only way to find that out is changing the head gasket and doing a pressure test on each cylinder! Tap water is not our friend! Use distilled water only in your radiators! And never trust premixed coolant ever! I never use it! You can't trust companies to be honest about using distilled water in their premixed antifreeze!
crosstimbers2: Can't you make your videos without the lawn mower?
Vacationtime247: I'd say @ $700-$1200 depending on where you go for the rebuild.
Xavier Holland: Lol random duck sexy stare. :P
Dude, nice swap. I too have the v6. Plan to keep it for as long as it will move, then pull a block, and move it some more.
Mike Thexton: Yea, I think It would be easiest to assemble the new engine while the blocks in the car already. I don't exactly have a scissor lift or anything just a jack, so I'm not sure If I could get the frame high enough to put the engine in from the bottom. I would love to invest in a scissor lift one day though!
Vacationtime247: If it's coming out the top, then all those things you mentioned earlier don't need removed. Be careful of the radiator not to knock a hole in it by accident. From what you're saying, it should be ready to pull by hooking up the chains and lift. You going to put the heads on after dropping the block back in?
Mike Thexton: Well, I have everything removed from the top, the entire engine bay is empty minus the block, it is sitting on the frame of the car and is only bolted to the tranny still, It looks like I can throw the chains on it and unbolt it from the tranny and lift it out? It's as disassembles as if I were doing the head gaskets again.
