Jason Yanes: Thanks for this video. I did the passenger lower last year on my 96, and
had to torch the thing to get it out. It wasn't easy. I need a new driver
upper now, and it looks a lot easier since the whole control arm can be
replaced pretty cheap.
Ld X: Excellent demo. Bravo!
brody n: thx for the information i will leave a subscribe and a like
BklynJayL: How can you tell if, your Ball Joints are bad? Does it causes rattling
when, driving over bumps in the road?
Simon Chase: Nice job. I'm here to replace mine after mechanic told me 400.00. Question,
is there lower ball joint?
Carl Johnson: Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
chacelarsen50: Great video!
1615paco: thanks man , Ford Dealer make me budget for replace upper and lower ball
joints $1300.00, I will fix it by myself, what you think? Moog brand is
ykhludnev: Ничего не понял, что он сказал.
Русский учить надо! 25% американцев говорят по русски.
Trenton Williams: Could the ball joints going bad cause a loud squeaking noise when turning?
Duncan Mac: You got lucky on the upper bushings. I've had them so frozen the only way
was to cut them out. What a gigantic pain in the keester.....
Michael Rios: Good video but does this also apply to 2003 Lincoln aviator
Cole Taylor: I have an 05 escalade makes a clunk noise on passenger side when i hit
bumps/potholes, etc. I'm thinking it's the ball joints. Do they make a
clunking noise if real bad?
Rob Saf: good job man , thanks
fishodorvagina: Is it okay to put anti-seize compound or grease on the tapered ball joint
pin before fastening it back into the steering knuckle to prevent it from
sticking in the future?
taggr921: BRAVO on a well done video. Thanks for the help.
robinsonsauto: Thank you, man if things go that well i will be set, :) wish you all the
best as well
SuperSammy1977: Nice job! Thanks for the video.
robinsonsauto: Your welcome, and thank you for the kind words
PJ PITT: Does this sport trac look identical to a 04' Explorer 2 door 6 cylinder
when replacing upper arm & ball joint? Is there a lower arm and ball joint
or just a lower ball joint when replacing them on the 04' Explorer 2 door 6
cylinder? Is an alignment required if you just change both lower ball
joints on a Explorer 2 door 6 cylinder or only if you change the upper ball
joints on a Explorer 2 door 6 cylinder. Why buy a Chamber Bolt Kit &
install it when u r changing upper or lower ball joints? thx
Wilma Serrano: thanks, how much should this run you and how long should it take.
cotaman7: If you have aftermarket upper control arms on the Explorer (Moog,
Raybestos), they make a single ball joint that you can change like the
lowers without removing the whole control arm assembly. Much easier.
hootie1blow: Great video with good information. Thank you.
M.C. A.: Nice video. If doing both upper and lower in this vehicle, which one gets
robinsonsauto: Take note before jacking the vehicle at the angle or the control arm, try
to get it near that point, i know this isn't 100% mid however helps out
tremendously, if you just tighten the bushings up with the travel fully
extended when you let the vehicle down it tries to relax the bushing will
be loaded just sitting, therefore try to achieve a normal relaxed ride
height then tighten
robinsonsauto: Your welcome anytime, thank you, Will do sir.
robinsonsauto: Thank you
robinsonsauto: Thank you
CarltonFamily: Thank you for the video...how much can cost to change both sides? I just
don't want to get ripped off because I'm a woman ;)
robinsonsauto: Your welcome, If you have the same year/make/model exact service (upper
control arm assembly) your looking at 1 hour per side by the book. hourly
rate in your area? in PA. from $50 to $100 plus part around $60 main thing
is going to be the labor, i follow a parts and time guide and will never
charge more than the time allowed, alignment is an extra charge avg. $60
around here, get an estimate first. They better not or i will chase them
down with a wrench and do it for you lol
robinsonsauto: 4wd im assuming? i believe you can replace just the ball joints, however if
you have any loose bushings it may be easier to replace the whole assembly,
hope that helps
Antegas Hindoyan: Thank you sir. Good! Vid.
robinsonsauto: Thank you sir.
stuzman52: Nice work Will. Just wanted to stop by to say hello and hope you and your
family are doing well.
robinsonsauto: Thank you :) and your welcome anytime
ColtsNation317: Hi, I have an 2004 Ford Explorer XLT, and I need to replace my upper and
lower ball joints. Is it the same as this video for the Ford Explorer Sport
Trac? Meaning i will have to replace as an assembly instead of just the
ball joint by itself?
TheTexasCoder: Thanks for the video! Good stuff brother, keep em coming!
cecil6711: Excellent video. :-)
MT01Boy: Happy New Year to you and your family Mr. Robinson, may I wish you health,
wealth and happiness.... :-)
M.C. A.: answered my own question.... BOTTOM is 1st.
javier hernandez: yup thanx!
Rhage73: Thanks for the video, i enjoy all your videos and always learn something.
Thanks again for taking the time to share the info with us. =)
robinsonsauto: I replaced the upper control arm which included the ball joint, if you take
notice the upper ball joint is attached to the top of the spindle, with
that in mind a ball joint is used where a part needs to move, the tire
bolts to the spindle Assembly and needs to turn and move with the
suspension while staying in alignment, we replaced the upper ball joint
something needs to keep the lower potion of the spindle secure and inline
that's where the lower ball joint comes into play, hope that helps
robinsonsauto: Your welcome
Felix Gradiz: this video is perfect, good demonstration, gracias (thank you)
rickydude2001: Thanks for the video!! very helpful to all would be mechanics...keep up
the good work..
robinsonsauto: Thanks for passing through
RZGOBLIN: Nice job Will
jgonz1104: I have the exact same truck year and model and I have to replace both front
upper control arms and both front lower ball joints. This has been one of
the few helpful videos I have found so far, I was wondering if you had
another one showing how to replace the lower ball joints. Thanks in advance.
Hair Do: Thanks for the tip. I do know it's hard to earn money. But it is much better than working minimum wage at mcdonolds. Being an hair stylist does get tips and I end up making decent money. Plus it allows me to be creative sometimes and make customer's dream come to reality.
