How To Fix Your Polaris Sportsman When It Has No Spark

What do you think about this video?

1cont: Your video saved me big money. I had crank but nospark. My pull start rope broke off and it still ran for a few hours. As it turns out the knot on the inside of the pull rope plastic pully fell inside and was shredded by starter ring gears as it ran. All the shredded rope pushed pushed my pickup coil away from my stator ring so it couldn't pick up the magnet. I cleaned out the crap rope following your instructions.

Now she runds great. Thanks. Man to man. You helped me a lot. Thanks.

Ben Tucci: I have a 2004 Polaris 330 Magnum 2 wheel drive. I accidentally touch the coil wires together for the solenoid and now nothing comes on at all no power on my instrument panel or anything

Smitty Smithsonite: I'm working on a '06 500 HO that has an odd issue- no spark using recoil, but nice fat spark ONLY when using electric start - as soon as you release the key to the run position, it sparks maybe 3 times, then dies. Trying to do this without a wiring diagram is frustration city (and I also had no meter OR test light with me at the owner's house), but I suspect the exciter coil is weak or toast. Polaris must use battery power to charge the CDI box when using the e-starter, then switches to the source, or exciter coil for CDI charging power. I suspect the pickup or pulser coil is good, since it will spark continuously and run if you hold the key in the e-start position (not good for the starter or bendix, for sure).

Headed back down there with my diagnostic equipment today to try again ...

bergatube60: Yea man,but there are many causes for the ” no spark problem”, this is only one of the causes. My spark cable broke in the sparlhood, took me a while to figure that out. But then it was cheap to fix (-:))

Justin Branden: I've got a 04 Polaris Ranger 500 that has no fire whatsoever fully charged battery and has too be jumped. What are your thoughts

Ronald Miller: Hi
I was wondering if your new stator did not come with the wires to connect it
or was it easier to just de-solder and re-solder the new one in?
Thanks for an informative and easy to follow video

diann Tuller: my polaris. 300 express. just. died and won't start
like. not. get any. fuel

WILLSWHEELHAUS70: I replaced the stator last year, it ran great. I Had a back fire but it started up again. I have started it many times since but I believe there is no spark/weak spark. Is it possible the coil is bad? Or the stator went bad again?

Jesus Faith: My 2013 sportsman 400 wont start...its just clicks once and that's it..the battery is new, all the power/lights work....I think its the starter or the solenoid. How can I test to see what it is? How exactly do I jump the solenoid to test it? Thanks.

Seeker85420: Working on this tomorrow, great to see YouTube info is there when (before!) I need it. Thanks for the vid....haven't found the downloadable service manual, yet

Eliab Clemente: Hi mate, how are you doing? Grettings from Brazil. I hope you can help me out on this trobleshooting. Let me get strait to the point. I just got a POLARES 330 CC, 2003 and I realized that my CDI box is not working, something bad might happened. I did some researches on the internet, youtube and i notice the the best thing to do is basiclly replace it, get a brand new one. However, to get it down here is so expensive. So, I´d like to try a MOTOBIKE CDI BOX. What are you recommend? Have you ever try it? PLEASE HELP ME. I aprecciate it. Thanks so much. Excuse my inglish is bit rusty.

Jason Linhart: my CDI has a different plugin than the replacement. which wires are the trigger wire?

Steve Dula: Is that the only thing that can cause no spark ?

Marie Destefano: how much does it cost to do this ?

knuckles710: great video brian. i have a 2000 polaris 335 and i would like to know where the fuel pump is . thank you hope to here from you.

Travis R.: I have a issue with my 2003 sportsman 700. it cranks and if i spray brake cleaner in the carb it will run for 10 seconds then die! it has a new fuel tank thats full of fresh fuel. Fuel pump maybe??

briansmobile1: It's most likely a bad ignitor (showed in video) It's that little box that sits at 9 o'clock to the stator.

Jackye Freeze: I have a Polaris Xplorer 300 (not sure what year but it looks just like the 1996 models I've seen). I bought it used about six years ago and it has served me well. I just went through a divorce and it has been sitting unused for at least 9 months. I had drained the fuel so I've put fresh gas and oil and went to change the spark plug and even though I've done it in the past, for the life of me, I can't find the crazy thing. Can't find any videos that show where it is, can you help?

briansmobile1: A person can be bleeding, but not be dead. A stator can have gunk and not be bad. However if you see a dead person, and they are covered in blood, you might posture that the bleeding had something to do with their demise.

Down And Dirty Off-Road: That gunk in stator doesnt mean its bad ours has gunk and works
