Chris Page: I have a 2000 Chevy with the 4.3 and 98 and they both spit and sputter everytime it rains when is nice and warm out it doesn't do it could that be my spider injector

brandon duncan: Hey jfrost! First of all i wanna say great video man!!! Best I've seen yet. Before replacing the spider did your truck emit an EGR valve code. I thinking my spider is leaking and causing the cylinders to flood and run rich causing the carbon build up and throwing my egr valve code. Tried cleaning the valve and didn't last one day and had the same problem. Loosing power on OD and real bad carbon smell at stop lights and rough idle. Any help would be grateful

Jordan Clarke: hey jfrost got a question dont kno if you'll be able to help but i got a 95 s10 blazer same motor as u but im pullin a code p0171 (fuel system lean bank1) i checked for vacuum leaks and intake leaks cant find anything, my MAP and MAF all both clean and good, the other thing it she only runs and sputters for the first 5 mins after start up even if the motor is hot or cold no matter what. you can shut it off and start right back up and she'll sputter and clear up after a couple of mins

Scott Lambaria: very informative and to the point,,,,ty great job,, my 2000 4.3 4 door blazer has been diagnosed for this specific repair, they are quoting me between $500-$700 for the repair. I found a non oem spider for $99.00,,, it didnt seem to me it took you a day to fix,,,if you were going to charge labor on what you did in this video, how many hours would you charge? And after that quote from the shop and now just finished watching your video I might be able to do myself. let me know ,,thanks,,,

tman594tb: When you take that top piece off do you have to drain any coolant at all or is it dry inside by the fuel pressure regulator? Just curious if I need to drain anything before doing this.

cbthethird: fixin to have to do this to my 98 gmc with the 4.3. So many things have broken on this truck so far. had it since late 97, bought new. In 110,000 miles of light use, it has been nothing but problems. Great video though. Thanks for uploading.

fendertele1988: Any idea if the symptoms you described could also be solved by replacing the fuel filter? a mechanic friend of mine told me that that was the solution when i told him my truck was sputtering, having trouble starting, smelled like it was running rich. thanks in advance!

ImShannon: Wow man great video! I have a 93 and a 94 S-10 Blazer and I've replaced the fuel pump in both of them, with a Delphi. Still neither of them will run. Fire right up with a shot of starter fluid but then cut off. Maybe this is my problem too? Was afraid to go into the plenum to get into this, but after seeing your video it doesn't look hard at all. A hell of a lot easier than those fuel pumps!

undercoverLsX: L31 had a very lean smell, idle issues, and bucking in gear. This solved my problems. I thought it would be a vacuum leak considering the vortecs notorious leakage.

GoldOlds94: Did this to my 94 olds bravada. Went from 10 mpgs running like s#^t to 23 mpgs running like it just came off the assembly line. Clean the egr valve too!!! Clean with gas everything

timcat100: Wow...googled this for days and this is the first I hear about this GM fix. Now I am gonna have to Google this part number. I don't need to do this repair right now but I will do it before it kills this newer van I bought...don't want to kill it like my 94. Thx eh!

Paa Hawkins: excellent... 2nd video on this job I've seen. Mine is a 95 Astro with the horrid rough idle, and fuel smell everywhere like someone dumped gas on my engine after I drive it. Since I changed the IAF, EGR and a few others the fpr and spider is the final straw! LOL Hopefully

aode06: DONT FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR OIL MY FRIEND, ITS FULL OF FUEL FROM THE BAD SPIDER AND WILL DESTROY THE ENGINE BEARINGS

Kyle Whybrew: its a similar setup but its a bit different. all the connectors come from the top directly into the fuel body instead of through the back of the plenum and you can get a replacement with electronic poppets (gives me 17mpg on a good or bad day). the electronic poppet version doesn't cost that much more than its predecessor. just do a search for "mpfi 4.3 spider".

David Jacobs: when the truck would not start at all, did it "kick back" or almost backfire? I have a '99 GMC 1 ton van with vortec 350 has not started in months. when problem first started to happen I could get it to start by feathering the gas while cranking. Crank sensor replaced so that is not it. I was only getting 9 mpg out of it the last time it ran. Any help would be great!

Laquetta Ross: I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy that is not starting when temperatures are below 40 degrees. a mechanic told me that it could be the timing since this is a different engine from the original engine. but now I have seen this vid and think it maybe the injectors. my CHECK ENGINE light is on and the code always reads FUEL CAP when checked. I was going to sell my Jimmy but I will try this first. should I do this during the winter time to be sure that this is the problem?

ICEProducer: @jfrost77hd Awesome thanks again. I have been having the issue with my 97' Bravada. I replaced everything from the fuel pump all the way to the engine and the truck still stalls when it warms up. I have seen the issue with the fuel pressure regulator in many posts and made me think this is the problem....I hope it fixes it i like my truck lol

Kyle Whybrew: Yea i killed a red 2 door blazer that way, don't think ill ever piss around with regulators or poppets again. Just replace the whole unit or it will leak.

dick fleming: have you had a problem with a single injector that doesnt work until the engine is fully warmed up ? just had my 96 tahoe intake man. gasket replaced by a local shop. spider injectors were replaced in 2008 with an a/c delco #217-3029 upgrade. has new rotor and dist caps,plug wires & plugs.compression 195 lbs and good spark.

r8er4everd: I know the back of the truck is full of snow, but I bet your wife would be allot happier if you at least cracked that garage door a foot or so when running a engine... :P Unless fixing the runablity issue was for a much more sad purpose then being able to drive it...lol Other then that great vid dude. Was well presented, informattive, and I am sure that allot of shade tree's will be used because of it(weekend/shade tree mech's).

trent young: very informal video. my brother has a 94 s10 blazer with the 4.3 and he got it fixed at a dealership but we could never figure it out by ourselves. this gives us a good idea for next time
