Windows 8 Beginner Tutorial: Overview, Tips & Tricks

What do you think about this video?

Kal Hashemi: I will NEVER get used to that crappy looking 3-eyed fangled monster called Windows 8. When M$ tried to shove Vista down our throats, I stayed with XP for years afterwards. I simply refuse to use total garbage like that and we shouldn't have to resort to using 3rd party apps to keep fixing M$'s blunders. Instead, M$ should listen to their consumer base and act in accordance with the users wishes and feedback. And don't even get me started about their new Houdini based activation scheme for OEM computers. How dare any company come off that smug and indifferent to its user base, and then have the nerve to shove such a horrible looking OS down our throats. M$ is going to screw itself again and time will show such to be true. If you read some of the posts in other threads about how controlling and predatory M$ is acting in regards to the new activation and UEFI, etc.........then I hope people will really stand strongly against it. M$ has always been predatory and that is not news to anyone, but they have taken it to a new level this time!

bob bobo: Great tut man thanks. How did you get the desktop icons in the little black like bins that are named on the desktop?

starkness65: How did you make a Tab for PC Tools, Documents, etc on the right like that?

dskiad: The best tutorial ever. Thank you

Roel R Garcia: Miguel, Gracias hermano, this is the most that I have learned about windows 8. You explain everything very well, I'm sure there is more to this but this is for beginners. I feel pretty good now and am doing more now, Thank You

falco4377: Thank you pal for your tips.

FuckYoutube&Google: Windows 8 is freaked......Nothin but hate for it.....!!!

Odalys Valdes: Excellent tutorial thank you.

oscar69pollo: you sound like fez from that 70's show

Miguel Rodriguez: thank you!

mstrfool: Look at all the demos and tutorials for Win 8 on Youtube, and look at how much time is spend showing off the flash and glitter, all the entertainment aspects of it, and how much demos accomplishing anything. If you want eyecandy and distractions, this is the system for you. But for anything else, I can't see anything good about it that isn't stepped on by the 'show off' mentality.

Miguel Rodriguez: I'm glad I was able to help! Thanks for your comment

Elizabeth Tuuk: How can I transfer video from a cd to window 8?!! you are awesome at explaining things! thanks

john taylor: Thanks Miguel, i'll have to watch it again, i'm using xp

T-Bone: It actually did help. Thank you :)

joeterry162: Does the windows download thing in the description work?

Miguel Rodriguez: Check my channel I have another video explaining that

Atkatsuki85: gross windows 8 looks like some gay apple ios......

Jim Gibson: I agree that this is the best introduction to Win 8 that I've seen. Very organized and very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

RCVultures: i have used many os's and have programmed for both windows and linux. I have developed many MANY apps - including Android (java) and IOS (objective C). I thought Windows 7 was great. Windows 8 is by far the worst anything i have ever used. Ballmer is insane. How could this pile of crap get by so many intelligent people at MS?

Miguel Rodriguez: it's called fences

ahmed el pro: i can't grab items in the top left corner and put them right or left the screen ???!!!

Jane Willow: Where can I find a safe download of a 'fences' app?

Joe Deshawn: how?

Proxieh: in desktop mode I lost my time and date in my taskbar in the bottom right how do I get it back

Miguel Rodriguez: Check my channel I have another video explaining that

Atkatsuki85: Windows Ehnternet Exploder LOL

verycool350: I love you

IssacRG: I think its called 'Fences' search it :)

jilow: You should be able to download Skype separately to your hard drive, and just use your old Skype info.

Sainter2008: Miguel, thanks a lot. You explained it so clearly and in a very logical fashion. The best intro to Windows 8 on Youtube. Frankly I was tossing up between getting Windows 7 or 8 for my new desktop, but your overview tutorial has convinced me Windows 8 is the way to go.

kellie duignan: Miquel, I purchased win8 recently and have learned more watching your session. Thank you. I wonder if you can do a session on printing from websites and documents etc. I am having trouble with adobe. I can get item to view however I have no option to print or it wants me to contact adobe for more updates but adobe has no update.

hashim hussain: Iwas v nice thanks a lot

mstrfool: For a personal entertainment system, Win 8 looks good, real good with a touch screen. But for anything other then entertainment, It looks quite poor. It is far too intrusive and forces a large amount of unwanted information on you any time you change programs. It tosses away all the value of a desktop work system and replaces it with a tablet entertainment clone. It focuses on social networking at the expense of work or anything else.

Ray K: Thank you, thank you and thank you for a wonderful intro to WIndows 8. This explains all I needed to know, it all seems good. I am fedup of all the people going on about no start button and forgetting to say how fast everything is. Change is hard but change ia also progress, people need to keep an open mind rather than jump to conclusions. Excellent, I hope you get 1M hits.

Ben Travis: Cheese

Hilveuh: Hi Miguel, just a little question: I see you have grouped your icons on your desktop.. Can you tell me how you've managed that? Because I can't find it when I google for grouping icons, except for applications that do that... Isn't that a Win7/8 option or so I've heard? Thanks!

Miguel Rodriguez: It's called Fences. I have another video for customizing windows 8, feel free to check it out.

Miguel Rodriguez: Thanks for your kind comments. I did this video hoping to help out those who are new to Windows 8.

HilburnMcCormick: Brilliant tutorial. Very thorough

Tim Moyle: Thank you for speaking slowly and clearly Miguel, you are a good teacher. My new computer with Windows 8 will be arriving soon. I have been very nervous about it but I feel a little bit better now. :-)

giobeba: Great tutorial! This was very helpful. Thank you.

Miguel Rodriguez: you can disable the start screen if you like

Arien Duyck: Thank you! You helped me a lot. But how do get those icons in those little forms in your desktop mode ? ;D
