Gothic Barry: Believe it or not, but I bought my V6 Mustang because i actually drive it
on the roads and not on some stupid 1/4 mile straight piece of asfalt.
So yeah, a V8 might be a bit faster. It still doesn't mean that a V6 is a
slow car by far. And sure... A V8 is louder than a V6 (if you keep them
both stock). Now this might come as a shocker, but I didn't buy my V6
because I wanted it to beg for attention as I'm driving by. I personally
have enough selfconfidence to not need a loud exaust for that.
This ''It has to be a V8 to be a Mustang''-bullcrap always makes me laugh,
cause in a way it points out 'the American way' of thinking: "If it's
bigger - it's better.'' And what's even funnier is when many V8 owners
automatically think that just because they have a V8 it makes them a better
driver. Hate to burst your bubbles, but... NOPE, it doesn't.
And to all the V8 owners who drive automatic and act like they are 'king of
the road' and talk down to V6-owners I can only say 1 thing:"1st stop
driving the handicapped way and learn how to drive like a real car
enthusiast should." (Since driving automatics is mostly just done in the
rest of the world by handicapped, old or extremely lazy people.) And don't
give me that ''Automatics are faster on the strip''-kinda bullcrap, because
cars were not meant to drive straight for a 1/4 mile over and over again.
Nick Gers: well there was a women driving the v6 soo cut it some slack
ps31871: Why is it faster? Well more torque and it has better gears but i would
chose the v6
Wisconsin Wildman: Tune, intake, and exhaust on the V6 and it would beat the GT. The new 3.7
liter is pretty quick miles ahead of the old 4.2 V6.
Blacked out Pony: I actually had Manny at the dealorship do it in the performance shop, it
Dyno'd at 301 at the RW, most likely 275 or so at the crank,I put on the
CAI and the racing tune first and it went to 334 I believe, after I added
the larger throttle body and let it breath better with a big unrestricted
exhaust it jumped between 360 & 380 depending on how how the engine was so
after my Accel coils I gained about 5, it advertises 10 but I didn't see
that big of a jump, so when I had a different facility dyno the car they
came out with just shy of 385 so ya, on a great day with the right
conditions I could see a 390, a boosted V6 will see a 475 with no other
mods, so after a procharger I should be well above 500, hopefully!
inbigfootsbackyard: has anyone that is badmouthing the 3.7 drove one. im really impressed with
the sound and power they have. yes got 2011 3.7
camopaint0707: was this the 315 hp GT?
David Seidel: Not bad at all for a 305HP V6. The only reason the V8 really won was due
to 1. better gear ratio (3.31 V8 vs 2.73 V6), more HP/TQ (315 HP/325LB TQ
V8 vs 305HP/280LB TQ V6). I think the reason the V6 kept up was due to
weighing less by about 250-300lbs and having the 6 speed vs the 5 speed.
I'm sure if you slapped a 3.31 gear ratio in the 2011 V6 it would beat the
2010 V8 no questions asked.
Wisconsin Wildman: I have seen the Ford Taurus SHO with the 3.5L Ecoboost tuned and it eats
the current 5.0s in the new GTs for lunch.
MelvinLopez: shut that gay ass music
DONDIVA1969: People have become spoiled. Off the showroom floor the Mustang 3.7L V6 does
the 1/4 mile quicker than
1 - 1970 Ram Air IV GTO
2 - 1970 Buick GS Stage 1
3- 440 GTX, Road Runner, 'Cuda and Challenger
4 - 1969 Mustang 428 CJ
and a crapload of other vintage muscle cars.
Jessica Bennett: All that extra money for a couple milliseconds put 4 grand in that v6 and
the 2010 gt is lookin at that sexy v6 ass by 3 lengths lol
V6stangman2007: I never understood why people dog us v6 owners so much. U can make v6's
easily beat gt's, and just because u have a gt doesn't automatically make u
a good driver. I've beat gt's cause the freaking idiots couldn't shift and
they miss 3rd. That's actually happened to two separate guys I've raced.
Blacked out Pony: Its because the V6 was piloted by a female that can't drive
I beat GTs all day in mine
V6stangman2007: Also the v6 has a weight advantage already with the back seats, etc. and
really the original mustang was an inline 6. So the v6 is truer to the
original than the v8's ever were. Plus the mustang is not neccassarily a
muscle car, it's a pony car. Lightweight, handling car, that's quick.
The 2010 V8's gotta nicer sounding exhaust note, has better front/rear
styling and it's faster. Did I mention it's faster, but the 2011 V6 hangs
in there a close 2nd. Not too bad overall, plus the V6 gets 7 more mpg
highway because of the 6th gear. They're both quick, agile and handle like
a champ. Bottom line is, if you're going for the thrill of a Mustang, you
gotta get the V8!
gdpone0101: Jesus Christ who cares. If we all the had the money we would definitely
buy V8s. Pretty much no one buys the V6 because they had enough for the 8,
but just wanted the 6. The new V6s are nice, but so are the V8s. Also in
the end there is ALWAYS someone faster.
Adam M: Great comparison video im guessing they are both auto trans? Horrible
background music lol
burnzillablue: 4.6 Junk. Good riddance.
francisco pimentel: It's a damn pony car
ahmed nassar: The thing is for the v6 to get as close to the v8 is pretty expressive may
I say!! Ford did good on this one
Bruce Lee: if you concerned about MPG get a Toyota prius, that's what their made for.
leave the v6 out of the mustang, ruins the whole point of it being a
francisco pimentel: Ok for those of you who think the mustang is a muscle car are retarded.
Look it up
Spartan-86: Either of these would smoke my whopping 215hp 1996 GT... But I still love
it, and all Mustangs.
Blacked out Pony: It's all about how you drive, and my V6 has a few bolt on mods, against a
stock GT with an in experienced driver ( which most are ) I get the jump on
them, and if you calculated acceleration timing you will realize that it's
true , just research it, not hiding or BSing anyone
tshirt87: I don't race, I don't track therefore I bought my V6 Mustang for the
complete opposite reasons a V8 owner would. I want a V6 that doesn't mean I
want a Toyota Camry and there are millions of others just like me! Ford
will not be banishing the economy motor anytime soon nor have they since
1965. If you want V8 exclusivity and think the V6 is a joke buy a corvette,
it's never had a V6. The 2011 V6 is fast, handles great and looks amazing.
wadefa1: THATS SUCH BULLcrap..THAT GT WOULD OF BUSTED THAT SLOW ASS V6 HAND DOWN
Francisco Barrera: i have a 2013 v6... i wish i could afford a 2013 5.0... i had a 97 mustang
gt and the sound of a bigger engine is just more appealing... i miss my
gt.. the real muscle car sound.. i also had a 98 v6.. now those sucked ass
lol!! so slow... and a 06 v6 that was slow as well... im a mustang lover,
ive had 4 total. any ways im a college student.. the higher payment,
insurance and gas for a v8, and it does make a difference. i budget myself
and i simply cant afford! im content, for now. but why can't people just
appreciate the cars. 2011+ v6 good engineering put to work 305hp. i dont
consider it a muscle car, its a pony car and its great for daily driving
considering its hp. hopefully later on in life i can get a shelby or boss!
whoever says they would rather have a v6 is lying! i want a v8 i just
simply cant afford it...
jerry jsp: i have the Gt and im happy with it i know one thing that v6 should not go
in a mustang y bc i know it wont sound the same first off 2 when you open
the hood y the hell would you be happy to show off a v6 and 3 im sure you
can do a lot more with a v8 then a v6
TheRising Sun: Nope. The 2010 gt has only 10 more hp than the 2011 v6, has just a bit more
torque, and is heavier.
Juan Hernandez: 2010 GT
Ethan Jarrell: i love how everyone keeps posting "just do (cheap modification) and it can
probably beat the gt" well not if that guy woth the gt also decides to put
mods too, then what?
onefilipinoy: That v6 was pulling towards the end but the gt let off and the race ended.
Micah Myricks: People get v6 Mustangs because they want them. A real car guy/ girl would
never make fun of anyone and their car. Yeah they may have different styles
but they both share something--a passion for their car. These new v6 motors
can push out a lot of power, it's just new technology. Don't get me wrong,
I love a v8 but these new v6 motors are a force to be reckoned with. The
average joe would who would probably never do anything more than intake,
headers, and exhaust followed by a nice 93 octane tune would definitely
love the v6 or the v8. I'd opt for the v6 just because its different,
lighter, and it sounds unique.
Steve Kern: A V6 almost as good as the V8 from the previous year? Wow! Not too shabby.
misterd717: its always good to have options to accomodate different preferences, the
mustang is an everymans car. wanna look good drivin around, but dont care
for the extra grunt, v6 is your ticket, want that muscle, the sound, and
that visceral feeling when you mat the pedal, v8 is for you. everything is
better with options to suit everyones needs.
TooManyChoices1: V8 are for the pansy boys. V 12 or nothing!!! See how stupid that sounds.
This coming from a person that could have bought a 2010 GT premium, a 5.0
premium, base 5.0, but settled for the V6 to get my rear wheel drive manual
sports coupe legs first. Get what makes you happy, and drive it like you
stole it lol!
The 2010 GT is closer than some would think to the v6. .1-.2 difference
stock with Performance pack v6 and stock 2010 GT in the 1/4m. The V6 needs
Gears, similar tires and a tune, and they will run similar. And yes there
are differences between individual gears, and final drive. So with the
torque and HP advantage of the GT, the 6 speed automatic still needs 4.10
to keep up with the earlier torque curve of the 2010 GT, but the higher
revving 2011+V6 stays in peak HP longer. Makes for a very good comparison
of a high revving v6 vs. torque carrying GT. the automatic V6 is a pig
without a tune, and gears:^\
19DaRiO95: ford did alot of bullcrap.. for example the mustang 3.8 V6 with 142hp...
the new genesis coupe makes more than twice as much and its also a
naturally aspired engine. hahahaha
RedLS Rocketx: What did his comment say?
Reuben Joyner: Out dated isn't a year older. My 67 f100 runs all over 4.6 till there's a
curve nuthin like a 427 on the weekend and a 3.7 on the daily drive.
kingssuck06: Do you realize the V6 has a 4.26 ratio in 1st gear? That helps an extreme
amount with the 2.73's, the GT has a 3.15 gear ratio, and with 3.31's the
advantage actually goes to the V6. There is much more to gearing than whats
in the rear end. Could it be the fact the GT has about 40 more ft/lbs of
torque? Ever think of that?
Kris Demers: Looks about right. I don't miss the 4.6's though
Jason Phillips: First, not being sexist, but young female v6, 40 something male in gt?
Second, i own 2012 v6 bassani catbacks, k&n on stock intake, custom tune
and ecm by friend, ford mechanic, who won't reveal the tune. Roush wheels
275 - 35 - 20 cooper zeon. (4) All stock 4.6's don't come close. Also beats
r/t + srt8 Dodge (not such a) challenger, Gto 6.0's, 2005 (not blown)
saleen mustang, 2014 (blown) civic si - very slow. But new 5.0's beats me
by a hood length every time - that close.
YTmurphy: One thumb down for idiotically loud music, and another one for music at all.
breedr77: most people do only consider the HP of a car. seldom do they consider other
things like torque, or what the entire power band looks like.
08Revelator: umm...Let the girl drive the GT....than we might have a race
kingssuck06: I could watch 100,000,000 videos a day and you would still be a bigger homo
than me. Your a 40 + year old man and your on a youtube page all day every
day raving about how fast your V6 mustang the official transport for high
school girls all around. Go freak yourself
giantenemycrabX: tip: when filming car races, don't cover up car noises with music
300horsepower: I would take that gt for its acceleration response the 6 gear from v6 is
rarely going to be used.
William91TP: LOL did this dude just say 31 MPG on a V6 stang really man thats over rated
its 27 at best.
