PlushifiedNaruto: My 8800GTX died last night after a 4.5 year run. I'll have to try this.
Cameron Baldie: @Gizmotrold Yup :p
globulonz: I just tried this today. Upon booting my PC yesterday, I got the tell-tale beeping indicating non-functional video card. I was furious and didn't want to have to buy a new card. Tried putting it in the oven and it works again! Who knows for how long though!
Sean Linett: @ctb787 yes it did. My imac is still working at least up till the time i left for work this morning but i doubt it messed up. I ran hardware tests on it non stop for a few days straight just to kinda stress it a bit and it didnt have a single problem. Now i tried on another dead video card i had for a desktop but it didnt help that one so it all depends on why its messing up some work some dont.
ctb77: @nuccastolemahhyoshi Did it work? The oven method?
Cert: Building stuff is always in my family gene. My dad is a new york auto technician and taught me everything I need to know about cars. Now I sell car parts online to suppliment my income. So it does help when there's good guidance.
