michael mixon: What is suggested overlap coverage to prevent striping?

Gottacos: I love you

Mudig: so I should scuff the entire bumper?

Joe Smith: Great work, great presentation. Thanks.

Dustin Alexander: So, here is my senario... and I'm seeking your advise hear. I have an 04 tundra that recently got into a low speed crash. My wife was driving, hit another truck from the rear, bent all the front end pannels up. There is a little more to it than that, but short and sweet. Basically insurance isn't going to pay, so I'm left to fend for myself. I have located new pannels... all of them. And am fully capable of installing all of them on my own. The problem? Their not painted. Obviously, I will probably want to paint these prior to installation. I have 2 fenders, a hood, and bumper to replace. Is this a viable alternative to not having a gun, place other than a garage to paint, or the regular paint gun style eperiance to do so? Mostly I think my problem is just not having the equipment or both to do a "normal" paint job. And I'm not sending crap to mayco.. I've had bad experiences with them, and judging by their reputation I'm not the only one. Let me know your thoughts...
Dustin

anno domini: Explain something to me. Maybe I missed it. How is this a blend when you painted the entire door?

kay poly: From what I understand, one can apply clear coat on an already painted panel as long as you apply a bit of polishing paste on a pad, degrease afterwards and just apply clear? As you can see, he only did the primer-base-clear process on the scratched area and not the unaffected areas.

Geddon Me ansome: I have bought an old E36 BMW as a project car, it is Artic Silver . It had quite a few dings and scratches but no rust. I have used Aerosols to do the job and have found these new paints ( base coat and clear ) are amazing ,I am very pleased with the results.
