dafeichu: Excellent and thorough video. I wish I had more parts to replace but alas
it was only the glass/digitizer.
I was able to replace it doing the following:
1) Take off the metal strip on the back
2) Remove the three screws and remove the back cover
3) Remove the battery connector
4) Release the digitizer connector
5) Remove the glass from the silver bezel
6) Replace with new glass/digitizer into the bezel
7) Install the bezel with glass onto the rest of the unit

kent bartley: Question before i get too far... like alot of people here I dropped my
tablet, and now all i get on the screen is a really low dim purple color
from the bottom of the screen. The power is on and volume sounds work,
screen just wont work. I did remove and reseat the display flex like shown
at time 8:43 but its the same.
should i replace just the digitizer screen or the display too? Im
confused because the digitizer just looks like clear glass and my glass
isnt cracked at all.

The screen colours have gone all weird. Greenish purple. And it keeps
flickering. The resolution has gone really rubbish too. Mostly weird colour

It did drop before it happened and the earphones jack was in at the time.
Wasn't a big drop. Just from bed to carpet. So im not sure if thats what

Soryuuin: Thanks for making this video. Thorough and easy to understand. My Note 10.1
got dropped today and noticed the display colors got all weird (missing all
dark colors). Reseated one of the ends of the ribbon cable for the display
after I opened it up, and my display is back to normal now.

died a while back (no charge indicator on screen), i thought it might be
the charger so i brought a new one, tried to charge it over night but still
no charge or power indicator, nothing! i have tried all the button combos
with no luck. i noticed the dock connector (charging port) is pretty wobbly
and loose when i plug the charger in, do you think that could be the

Seems the only way to repair this at the moment, is to buy the screen with

into and then close is damaged. The bit you flick up to open as broken

apart covers don't get along. Also i have had several failed connections
when i was installing ribbon tape. Since this new change not one failed

the internet The battery don't charge .and the charge decrease!!! And if I
want to let the charge increase Idon't open the internet or play any games

unit warranty once before because the battery was off and when I but it to

Roman Kultajev: Thanks a lot! I was able to change the screen. You do not have to follow
all of the steps to change the LCD screen only (not the touch screen or
digitizer). Disconnecting battery, screen cables, usb housing and removing
plastic pegs with the screwdriver that keep panels together was enough.
Everything works now!

My unit warranty finished 2 months ago and 2 weeks ago my n8000 simply
reboot from nowhere and freezed in the samsung logo and didn't turn off the
Samsung said that the problem is in the mainboard and the cost will be
U$320 to fix it.
It is absurd! I am so angry and disappointed... I is not a cheapy generic
Chinese unit, it is a freaking expensive Samsung unit that seems have a
factory defect. Intentional or not, it smells bad business... :/
I tried to reboot the unit with the power and right side sound
button, nothing showed on screen and the unit rebooted to the logo again.
