Dominique Williams: 2002 dodge ram 1500 how would i find a head gasket first time door this
Jr JMc: What are the symptoms of a blown head gasket ?
MarzNet256: Make sure engine is cold when removing radiator cap! Otherwise you could be badly burned as the system is under pressure to prevent coolant from boiling. Use a rag when removing cap and open it slowly-just to be on the safe side.
Geoffrey Mckinney: Scotty Kilmer! I just swapped out my own head gasket...Yesterday. Took me a couple of days but I feel like I did it right. However, there is white smoke coming from my engine bay all over. I am afraid I messed up. My temperature gauge rests halfway no matter what...but there is white smoke leaking out from my hood. What have i done? What could it be?
opl500: Sometimes you'll get milky looking oil or milky look coolant from leaking head gaskets too. And sometimes you'll get steamy white smoke while idling.
Don't drive it anymore than you have to, and get it replaced. And change the oil and the coolant out too :P
What's really bad is if the gasket is leaking because the head got warped. Then you're right back into the shop for a new head or a machined head. And then you're changing the oil and the coolant yet again.
gmonkey808: I have a mystery coolant leak. Done this test and done a pressure test. No Mayo no white smoke losing about 2inches from header tank every 100 miles. Doing my head in!!!
gmonkey808: 2.5 million views. Nice one Scotty.
Sparky Spark: Headgasket blown will give you back pressure into cooling system thus having same results of a motor overheating even when running cold.
Mr Hirano: Guys turn on the subtitle XD
TailsBit: Another easy way to check is to check your oil, and if it's coffee brown and way past full (like up onto the middle of the dipstick area) then that means you have a blown gasket. The engine is attempting to use oil that is polluted with coolant. I've had 2 blown gaskets, fixed one and this one I plan to scrap cause I don't care about this car.
Mike Carter: have a 2000 ford explorer 5.0 and it smells like anti freeze and it did leak, then i replaced the water neck and gasket and the leak stopped for a few days then now i get anti freeze smell all the time but no leaks, any help?did have my radiator pressure tested and it shows no leaks..could it be a head gasket, does it have to leak to be a head gasket or the heater core, thanks
Ptotege5 2003 Mazda: that how im checking it if my dipstick looks water and does not smell like oil or when im open the cap from oil if i see sludge and white color on it that means is mixed with coolant system
greed6is6good: waste of time, thank you scott
Dell M: My coolant is mixing with my oil in my Honda CBR 600 F2. How can I fix this? What might the problem be?
Firdosh Lohar: this guy has the best INTROs lol
Joe W: A must have for any Northstar motor!
Dhiamer Darwin Jasmin: too bad for me scotty your so far away for me to show my 94 mazda 323 familia i just got it from my girlfriend. it is the first car that she bought from working so hard.. i want to restore it to keep its sentimental value for me and for her..
