Dennis Baldwin: Make sure you calibrate the GPS properly. I have a video that shows how to do that. As for RTH I recommend setting up a switch on your TX to trigger Failsafe mode. You'll know that you're in Failsafe mode when the slider in the assistant lights up blue on Failsafe. And then when you switch to Failsafe when your quad is on the ground you'll see a different LED. Also, make sure you have 6 or more satellites before you arm your NAZA so it can come back home to a precise location.
Dio dhonext: Thanks Dennis.. My turnigy 9x has the original firmware + frsky module and receiver.. I successfully flown it in manual mode but i haven't tried GPS and RTH yet. Do you have any recommendation on how to test the GPS mode without flying? Cheers
Dennis Baldwin: I believe this quad comes with the DEVO7 transmitter, which means it should be possible with your X350. I personally haven't done this, but from what I read it sounds like it's possible.
Dio dhonext: Great video... can i use thi setting in WALKERA QR X350? THANK
Dennis Baldwin: You're very welcome. Thank you for following along.
2007crf450r: thanks dennis for your great video's saved me a lot of headache and aggravation, big thumbs up
Dennis Baldwin: If your budget can afford it go with the NAZA V2. There is only one GPS that works with the V2. If you're on a tight budget then go with the NAZA Lite. The NAZA V1 has been discontinued, but I'm not sure what that means and if they'll continue to support it. I fly with the NAZA V1 and if I were in the market I could go V2.
Lawrence Hunter: Sorry Dennis , I dont know there was 2 out there so ill say the v2 mate.Im looking to do video photography mate.
Dennis Baldwin: Lawrence, which NAZA are you purchasing? There's the NAZA Lite, V1, and V2 versions.
Dennis Baldwin: Okay, let me see what I can find out about the 3 position switch in ACRO mode. Surely it can be done. I'll post a vid in the next few days. Thanks.
Lawrence Hunter: Hi dennis, I have just bought a second hand tricopter-it flies great but I was going to put a gps on it .thing is there are 2 gps from naza out there .what one would you buy if you where looking to add one.thankyou.
marcello robaina: acro mode
marcello robaina: ACRO mode
Dennis Baldwin: Thank you for the feedback. Can you tell me if you're flying in ACRO or HELI mode? I recently switched to ACRO mode and I believe some of this is different so I plan on doing a video. But I wanted to understand your mode before I try to help you out.
marcello robaina: Great video Denise, one question when your setting the three way switch do you leave Aux-ch 6 at Null position. Becuase i cant get the bar to move naza computer setting. I try to move the pitch but nothing
GeorgeBonez: Well believe it or not YOU taught me how to program my tx. Its NOT exactly the same but its close enough that I (got-it) & set it up from your vid! I have 2 different modules. I currently use the the Orange RX DSMX/DSM2 2.4Ghz on my & yeah I know its considered to be cheap crap but it has NOT failed me once & I have been playing around with this guy for like 4 months. I also have the the OrangeRX Open LRS Tx Mod but I haven't used it yet. My 9XR is just freakin kewl & even I can pgm it! :)
Dennis Baldwin: The way you're going on and on about the 9XR sure makes me want to pull the trigger :) I definitely see one in my future. Failsafe is generally receiver dependent. What module are you flying with? I know the FrSky has it built in...but not sure if they have a 9XR module. Will check.
GeorgeBonez: Dennis I sure do wish your 9X radio would break so that you would get a 9XR lol (kidding) umm sorta. The radios are different but similar enough that I found your vid on this setup to be the best vid on yt to help me get my 3pos sw working with my NAZA w/ GPS and my 9XR flight modes Manual, ATTI and GPS. Now I would like to learn how to setup my Fail Safe on a switch. Am I going to have to use another sw to shift my 3pos?If so then I prob wont bother and just use the Vol protection as is
Dennis Baldwin: To configure different flight modes you'll need to set it up with your NAZA connected to the computer and your transmitter binded to your NAZA. After you do this once you shouldn't need to do it again. DJI released a new iPhone app that allows you to do some configuration of the NAZA over bluetooth, but I'm not sure if you can setup flight modes with it.
jumbodrawn: Sorry, for some of you this will be stupid, but im a noob with this.
I know for some Nazas you need to have a computer connected to wifi to change modes.
To change, do you need to have your computer next to you, or is it not required.
If it isnt required, then I will definately get this, but if it is.... then its just a waste of money for me D:
Thanks for reading,
Please reply soon :D
P.S: this video was realy helpful
Dennis Baldwin: No. If you want to use your gear channel then that would be necessary but for just the 3 position switch you don't need to. I recently posted a video of 6 flight modes using both the 3 position switch and the gear switch in combo.
Dennis Baldwin: Oh, I get what you're asking now. Sorry. Let me see what I can find out and get back to you.
Dennis Baldwin: Sure Joe, but what do you mean there's a 3 way switch on the other side? Are you talking about the TX that came with your Naza setup? If so, what type is it?
Dennis Baldwin: Joe, that's great to hear. Thanks for the feedback.
di0deNull: Did you change any configurations for the aux channels on the 9x?
Joe Renda: The DJI NAza light also has a three way switch on the other side. Off position, course lock, home lock. Can you please help or give any ideas on how to configure those switches on the 9X radio?
Joe Renda: Hello Dennis. This video was a huge help. I have the DJ I naza lite and a F550 kit with the Turnigy 9x radio. I could not figure out how to configure my three-way switch and then the failsafe with the other gear switch. After watching both of your videos I now have that done.
Dennis Baldwin: No problem and thanks for the feedback. Yeah the pitch curve flattening is probably one of the #1 problems people run into when setting up this config. It definitely was a problem for me until I figured out what was going on. Glad you got it working.
Colourburn - Branded Video Production: MAN, thanks for this. My naza was freakin out in Attitude mode and i couldn't work it out. The problem was that my pitch curve levels where not straight. THIS IMPORTANT, as i found out. Thanks again.
Dennis Baldwin: Awesome. I always appreciate the feedback. Thanks and I'm glad you got it up and running.
monterx788: really really really appreciate your video/help. was very easy to understand and follow your directions and set this up on my flysky!!!
Dennis Baldwin: No, nothing on Channel 5 for this setup. I'm not sure what problem you're having but if you'd like some more help go to garagepilots . com and post in the forums. Either myself or someone else can help you there. Thanks and good luck.
Laskar Channel: Done carefully what you show. Do not work for me :(
Did you plug someting on chanel 5 of your reciever ?
Dennis Baldwin: This has one 3 position switch, a couple of 2 position switches, and a couple of knobs. It's pretty tough to beat for the $.
Hoggdoc: You could use the third position of the switch to activate Failsafe. BTW how many 3 position switch does this TX have?
Dennis Baldwin: Dave, thanks for the feedback and glad to hear your Naza is coming soon. Did you get the V1 or V2?
Dave Schilling: Waiting for my Naza but just got the 9x and have it all set and ready to go. I set values to match yours so might have to adjust. But thanks for the great video.
Dennis Baldwin: Zach, I appreciate the feedback and am glad to hear you're in the air. FPV is amazing and I wish I could do more of it! Yeah, I've been looking at the QAV stuff for a while. It's probably one of the best FPV platforms for the money. Let me know how it goes and if you get a chance check out our community at garagepilots . com. Would be great to have you over there. Take care.
MiG Aerial: Dennis I just wanted to say thanks for the direct help and indirect help from your videos. Just had my first FPV flight and it was incredible! Your videos answered so many questions and you replied to my comments. Super stoked about this hobby now. Highly considering the QAV platforms now, they look incredible.
Dennis Baldwin: My French isn't very good so, you're welcome :)
jf neuder: merci beaucoup ;)
Dennis Baldwin: Frank, thank you for the feedback and I'm glad this helped. I did a bunch of stumbling as well before I figured out how to get this to work. Take care.
Dennis Baldwin: I wish I could be of more help, but don't have the 9XR. If you google "turnigy 9xr manual" the first link should be a PDF manual. Here is an excerpt:
ii. HALF: The output is either 0 or the value describes in "weight". This is controlled by the
iii. FULL: Same as MAX but the value is "-weight" if the switch is off or "weight" if the switch
is on. MAX and FULL can be a little confusing.
Look in the examples section for, well, examples :)
Be sure to check the examples section.
Frank Vanbeek: stumbled on this for a long time till i found YOUR video dennis... thanks a million..
Dennis Baldwin: Cesar, do you mind checking out garagepilots . com? It's a community for multirotor pilots and you can post your question in the forums. Either myself or another member can help you out. That will be easier than trying to do this via YouTube comments. Thanks.
Milestone Media: hey man, im new to this stuff, I have a 9xr but I dont know what half the features even mean, where can i find a explanation of all the features on my 9xr? Or any transmitter i guess... such as mixing, expo, channel & switch setups, what is Weight? what is Half and FULL for switch settings? and what does having -100 to +100 or whatnot mean.
Cesar Maldonado: It's on heli mode
Shrimps: Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. The reason I was able to get sales is because I offer rare shrimps for sale. Not many other online place is willing to take the risk at shipping high priced shrimps. That is my way of earning online.
