Eric chhun: Will this work for windows 10 tech preview or not yet
LPDarkSoulsHD: Yeah, I don't have the USB Input Device option. All I have is USB DS3
Device and I have no clue why. This only started happening yesterday. The
lights on the controller are supposed to blink in order from 1 - 4
repeatedly. All 4 of my lights just flash repeatedly and none of the DS3 or
scarlet crush programs recognize my controller. How do I fix this?
Guy Collishaw: I used that scarlet crush productions crap and it didn't work, now my PS3
controller is permanently registered as an xbox controller on the PC and I
can't find how to get rid of SCP. So I can't use this now.
weeble1207: For everybody having trouble with Windows claiming the driver software is
already up to date, try this.
1. Copy the the location of the driver folder to your clipboard
2. Choose let me pick from list
3. Click Have disk
4. Paste the folder location
Hchambers150: "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date
-- USB Input Device" Umm... I have fully uninstalled DS3 Tool - not sure if
that did anything, or even had any correlation with this. Please help me as
soon as possible - this crap is getting frustrating,
Fabio Bianchi: For me works...but Better DS3 is laggy, why?
Rafael Ataíde: tried this and my ps3 stoped working and it does not work anymore
Kenpachi Ramasama: any solutions to better ds3 reacting really slow when the controller is
Tnz2™: Hi. i need help! my Controller turns off after 2 times all 4 lights
blinking :( need help plz (Works on ps3) but not on pc
Hipnog: Holy freak it worked, Thanks mang.
nicky vukelic: it keeps saying it has determined that it id up to date when i try to
scratchNsniff96: For anyone having the problem I was, which was "The best driver software
for your device is already installed" the way to get around that is after
you click "update driver software" and "browse my computer for driver
software" is to follow these steps:
click "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
click "have disk"
browse for the folder with the driver
Nightylike: Thanks for saving me time searching for the drivers ;)
MajorFoley1: Thanks for this guide man, you might want to include weeble1207 comment in
your description as well
adrian shepherd: hey yall im freaken stupid but umm i pressed disconnct on better ds3 tool n
now i cant fix it can someone help
Wolfflow500: Idk if you forgot a step (or if I'm the only one who noticed on windows
7), but your supposed to go into your device panel of windows, click the
Playstation controller device, go into harware, click properties and you
forgot to say CHANGE SETTINGS (it has an admin shield icon over it). If you
do not click change Settings your update driver button will not light up
and will be unclickable.
animefigureskater18: I did everything you said, but my computer told me that the driver was
already installed, and so I didn't need to install it. So I thought, oh ok.
I went onto Better DS3, clicked control panel and tried to connect my PS3
controller. Nothing happens. I'm either skipping a step or I'm doing it all
wrong. :/ Please help!
Isidro Rueda: okay so i plug it in, it says its already updated ( yeah you say uninstall,
UNINSTALL WHAT freakERS I HAVE TO CHOOSE HID CONTROLLER OR USB INPUT DEVICE
freakING RETARDS) and either way when I uninstall both of them, it just
disconnects the controller, and then I unplug plug it back in, then either
way it installs again and doesn't work yet again, someone please help.
The-Mike_D: Thanks bud. The only difference which is the part that stumped me is on
Win 7 x64 It's important to go to "have disk" after Clicking the Browse
part. You can't let it pick automatically or it won't show up, instead
it'll show just generic drivers which wasn't even in your folder.
Sjaak Lyrics: I tried to install the drivers, but it says that that drivers are already
installed. So I plug out my PS3 controller, and then plug it in again. It
blinks for about 13 times, and then shuts off and does nothing. I can still
see it in the Control Panel, but BetterDS3 can't find it
Kevin Zelaya: i go through the instructions, but my comp doesn't recoginize the
controller after i 'update' the drivers
bob uncle: on my laptop 8.1 x64 it says drivers all ready up to date any ideas how to
Konrad Perry: So there's one very important thing I am missing here; how does he get the
driver's folder? I know, it's a nooby question, but I can never find a
guide to this sort of thing that has answers to any questions I might have.
It always seems like there's a bunch of problems that only I'm having.
D. Q: When I try to install it says it's already upto date. So I tried to say I
have a disk, and when I do, it still doesn't WORK!!!!! Piece of crap all of
this is I spend days on this, about to throw my laptop out the freaking
PedoBear1811: The update driver button in grey and i can't click on it.
MrIqjongkok: Can anyone help me ? i have succesfully installed the drivers for both the
DS3 and bluetooth dongle and the bluetooth device name in device and
printers already changed into "Motioninjoy virtual xinput device for
windows" and my DS3 is connected to the better ds3 program if it use wire.
when i unplug the wire, the DS3 is not connected. I only can use the DS3 in
wire mode but cant use it in wireless mode. any ideas how to make the
wireless works ?
Liam Huckle: To be honest this the best tourtiral for this I've seen
Fuad Nizar: i did everything but the problem is the driver doesnt appear in the Better
DS3, when i click on control panel it is actually there but it doesnt
appear in the list (connected DS3 controllers) help anyone?
Cheetahh: There is no usb input device option for me...wtf
Zegik Niet: nothing is working for me this is so frustrating
Валентин Кондылев: Спасибо! Всё работает! )))
Rodrigo Lopez Trejo: I used this driver you provide before, installed it and worked perfectly.
But now i get a problem when trying to install the driver about it having
no digital sign, any chance you have the x64 signed version?, since x64 is
the only one that needs it.
Wolfflow500: So Basically (Windows 7 version)
First you must have a controller with dongle to usb or mini usb to usb for
this to work with your computer
Step 1 Preparing for Driver installation
Plug in your Controller
Let Drivers Install (these drivers don’t work because Microsoft)
Install the appropriate driver for your system (you only need one and if
you are unsure go into System in your start menu search bar and check to
see if you have a 32 bit (this is also called x86) or 64 bit operating
For 64 bit:
For 32 (x86) bit
Go ahead and scan for viruses just in case
Download one of these to a folder on your desktop (you will be using one of
these in step two; also do not delete the folder)
Step 2 Installing the correct Drivers
Open your Devices and Printers menu (also known as devices) and right click
on your controller and select Properties.
Under the Hardware tab select Properties
Under the General tab select Change Settings (it has a blue and yellow
shield on it)
Under the Driver tab select Update Driver
Select Browse my computer for driver software
Select Let me pick from a list of devices drivers on my computer
Select Have Disk button
Use Browse and select a file called Xinput in the driver folder you got in
step 1 or select the Complete Driver (e.i PS3 x64 or x32) folder (whichever
Step 3 Setting up Better DS3
Open and allow your computer to run Better DS3
Select Xinput on the side scroll and click New (Your controller should now
be present in the main menu)
Click the Xbox 360 Button and change only the RT(Right Trigger), RB(Right
Bumper), LT(Left Trigger), LB(Left Bumper) buttons to your liking (that’s
R1(Right 1), R2(Right 2), L1(Left 1), L2(Left 2) on a PS3 controller in the
Go to the end of the setup page and click Test to test the vibration
function and click Save Profile
Select your new input in the scroll down menu and Save it. Click Apply and
your controller should work for your games now
Warning, I have found the Xbox controller emulator to affect Better DS3 so
be aware of that.
Slashftw: any word on this working for ps4 controllers? I've been tryin a ton of
stuff but nothing seems to work
Tony Yombo: does this driver work with windows 8.1? I've done all the step but still
won't work ;(
i select the driver in have disk, but windows tell me that it couldn't
install my driver . Does anyone can help me?
zDallasCowboys008z: I've been using this method for a few months now, but for some reason when
I use BetterDS3 it lags for me.... like I when I move the tab around it
goes really slow, if I try to choose a profile it takes a few seconds to
Does anyone else have a "lag" problem with it? I've tried it on 3 different
computers and they all have the same issue with the program.
hiephoi058: doesn't work on windows 8.1 :(
mmonrealc: succesfully updated but better ds3 still doesnt detect the ds3
Paul Somers: You can run universal extractor on the install package for MotioninJoy
rather than installing it and find the drivers there!
KVILLE211: will this work for windows 8.1??
SamFan93: i have a ps3 controller im trying to use for gta sa for pc, which selected

Kaiser Vadin: Better DS3 does not have ads right MotionJoy pops up a random ad and
REQUIRES THE INTERNET TO WORK !
Shaun Barry: For anyone with Windows 8.1 who cannot get it to work try this.. Worked for
Jeff Odle: Isolated my recent BSODs when unplugging my controllers to a bad driver
from them, so this gave me a good excuse to ditch DS3.
Do I need both the 32 and 64bit drivers, or does it not matter as the
driver/program exists interdependently of games?
TechGamer86: FOR EVERYONE HAVING TROUBLE SETTING UP THE CONTROLLER: In Better DS3,
follow these steps as shown:
Open "Better DS3"
If you haven't, install the drivers in this guy's description
Select the "New" drop down menu

If they are: Select "Save Profile" You're done!
