Matt W: Scotty, I've got a couple of A/C leak questions...My truck has had a leak
somewhere in its A/C system since I got it almost six years ago. The first
two times I got the system charged, the charge lasted 14 months and then it
began to short cycle. This past time when I got it charged, though, was
only two months ago, and it began to short cycle yesterday, and the air is
nowhere near as cold as it should be.
Here's the weird part, though: Every time I've had it charged (and it's
been at 3 different shops), I've been told that the system held a vacuum
for 15 minutes or more. I'm kinda getting sick of this cycle. I know the
refrigerant is leaking out somehow because each charge isn't lasting as
long as it should (especially the most recent one). Each of the shops I
went to was a reputable one (based on online customer reviews on things
like yelp, google, etc.), so I highly doubt they were lying to me about the
vacuum holding. What would cause an A/C system to be able to hold a vacuum
adequately and still leak so quickly? Kinda puzzling for me.
Just a couple other important things...the compressor was replaced about a
year ago due to my old one having a worn clutch and no aftermarket clutch
the shop could find would match the rest of the pulleys (the one we did try
began to shred the fan belt!). Not sure if it was a rebuilt compressor or
brand new one, but I highly doubt that would be the culprit. It is
suspicious, though, that the time a charge lasted has shortened so
dramatically since I got that new compressor put on. Any thoughts on that?
Sherry Beauchamp: I have a 2001 Pontiac grand am it starts but stalls out no codes coming up
on diagnostic andl fuel pump is working help please
Elan Bender: thanks i tok all my tools to try start motor with new fuses a/c pump water

atif B: how did you vacume air out of condenser ?? what port needs to attach ??
before changing condenser must have to empty system and if you did not do
?? trying to do on my 1999 Buick Regal LS..
Larry M: Scotty. Could you do a video on what gas additives are worth using, if
any? Also, please talk about what precautions one should take when owning
an RV that sits most of the year. Thanks!
Havak37: I just found your video's today, and this might seem crazy, but I think I
am in love with you. Thanks for all the work you put into your video's
venj zamoras: hi sir whats the problem or common cuase car not so cold ac
Trentaur: Your videos are always killing me! Good videos!
NiL Kumar: Hey scotty, really enjoy the videos you make and they are really helpful.
My car blew cool air when i regased it for like a month and then it just
stopped, so i went to the guy who did it and checked for any leaks using a
pressure test and it wasn't leaking, he took out the gas and regased it and
once again it worked for a month then stopped again... What could be the
reason for this?
Vanboneio \ | commentary gaming channel | /: Man i swear. today's car company's are so cheap! they used to use metal
bumpers. Now they use PLASTIC BUMPERS!? What has today's vehicle industry
gone to, what a shame.
Mylo Xyloto: Scotty, what AC leak kit are you using and where did you get it?
Scotty Kilmer: How To Fix Small AC Refrigerant Leaks On Your Car
WolfmanZX: Ok, i wanna chance my condenser (and, why not, the receiver/drier too) on
my 99 mazda protege. I still have refrigerant in the system. Do i have to
recycle the refrigerant?
Jesus Rodriguez: I have a 1996 Mercedes c280 I'm trying to add a pro a/c on it but I can't
fine the low compressed so I could start adding the a/c
lathesh kumar: well I have chryser 300 m. recently while turning on ac Its started giving
kind of woosh sound n gradually cooling had gone down. so I checked with
the mechanic and he refilled refrigerant (not by your way) and the cooling
is back. But after a week the same issue, and i found out that cold air
blowing on driver side and bit warm on the passanger side. cooling is not
that good too. Please help me to solve the problem.
G Zuk: If you're in the NY area stop by and give a hand with this 2006 town and
country leak I cant find. I hate these cars

Frank Frankerson: Omg, This man is the heckler from Happy Gilmore!!!, I've always wondered
where he was today. Nice to know that celebs will do there own car work.
Thank you for your services.
Jeffrey Park: Hey scotty when adding the uv leak detector to an empty system do you need
to completely recharge the ac and let it run or do you only need the one
can of uv stuff?
fordwindsor351: Do you still need to hook up an vacuum pump after replacing a rear
transformer889: scotty, I bought a new AC compressor for 87 Toyota, the compressor does not
come with a manifold, the old manifold is all corroded and pitted so is not
usable , I have done a lot search on the net to find a new manifold but
looks like no body carries it, what to do ? any suggestions
טכנאי מזגנים בישראל: Great technique!
roon demahom: Excellent presentation. Explanation very short & sharp & straight to the
point. Easy to understood theory & practical. I liked your way of tutorial,
slow & calm. Double thumbs up to you & a big thank you for your very useful
info & tips. You are one of Professor Genius Sir David Einstein of modern
advanced of mechanical engineering. (:-)
deltafox399j: scotty clean your freaking car
rax188: You don't want to use pag oil! Its hydroscopic and absorbs moisture! You
have to use mineral oil, leaned that in my havoc class
Chamblizi The All Mighty!: hey scotty i just brought a new ignition switch its a 4 post and my
original was 3 post. i hooked it up as shown before and woke up this
morning with a dead battery.... why did that happen?
UGotMalk: but i dont understand..when you took that off why didnt the freon leak out?
Mike Petrowski: AC Refrigerant Certificate or License, is required here to purchase
refrigerant, the old refrigerant must be recycled (expensive machine). The
little pressured bottles found in auto part stores are they a solution? I
am hesitant putting anything in my AC system.
Scotty Kilmer: @Flatbed12 same as other engines, just has that boost done electronically
when the computer tells it to.
havocmia: Have a slow leak on my mazda myself 99 626 I put more freon in it but now 3
months later its starting to blow hot air on and off while I am driving. Is
the condenser located in the same place as the toyota you fixed? I want to
check mine to see if its the same problem.
smithraymond09029: The vacuum pump was attached to what part of the AC system again?
sicknessjb: Scott, What leak detection kit are you using? Brand wise...
Scotty Kilmer: just replace the hose then, they just bolt off and on. then you evacuate
the system and fill it up. If you like my car help, be sure to watch my

Scotty Kilmer: no one really fixes em, they just replace em. Chinese made ones are cheap
enough, but it's a big deal replacing it. Do that, or live without Ac which
Scotty Kilmer: @johnkor some places you do, some you don't. Here in Texas, anyone can buy
R134a, it's sold in stores, even wallmart.
moofushu: Scotty how much uv leak dye do we put into the system? Also, where is that
graveyard located? That's the coolest thing I've ever seen!
neovirtuality: Great video!
johnkor: how to convert from R 134 to works on R 12 any hints ?
Scotty Kilmer: @TheKnifedge many things can make em do that. Start by having the battery
and alternator load tested, places like auto zone do that. Pray it's just
one of those
bubu8947: Dont you need a licence to buy the refrigerant?
WSmart1: @Davidmex10 Sounds like a heater core leak. From what I understand if you
don't change your coolant regularly it can cause corrosion and that might
lead to this kind of damage. But a leaks a leak at this point. Probably
take Scotty five minutes to repair, but for the rest us maybe two weeks. Be
real, be sober.
Chamblizi The All Mighty!: @scottykilmer they stop producing them but i am going to add a rocker panel
box in my ranchero so it does not really matter i am going to have controls
for everything once i add a nice custom council in the center in my
Scotty Kilmer: I've seen some guys try, but most failed. Realize everything is made in
china these days and often new ones are 100 bucks or so
razz: Hey Scotty, my AC has been out of service for 3 years, because according to
the dealership it has a leaking condenser. I have not bothered to fix it
due to the cost, does a leaking condenser leak air into the AC system
further causing damage? Also any ides where to buy a UV Dye Kit here in
Canada? Thank, great videos.
Scotty Kilmer: @michaelalanlee It's already warm here in Texas, that's why i was fixing an
ac system already.
Scotty Kilmer: hissing is often vacuum leaks inside the dash so the ac blend doors don't
work right. Get inside there and check that hiss out
gerabigboy: what could i do when my ac only turns when i put it on 2
